My log saw something that night
Log Lady: For your information, I heard you speaking about Laura Palmer
Dale Cooper: Yes?
Log Lady: One day my log will have something to say about this. My log saw something that night.
Dale Cooper: Really? What did it see?
Log Lady: Ask it
I love me some Bach.
I do, I do, I do too!
For the first time in my life, I have recorded some Bach. It is moderately terrifying. I hope I did it justice!
Welcome to Twin Peaks. My name is Margaret...
The Log Lady, narrating the opening of David Lynch’s television series Twin Peaks.
I arranged Angelo Badalamenti’s theme from the series for solo piano. It will feature on my upcoming album The Good, the Bad and the Awkward. Yeah!!
I just wrote a new song. It only took me about half an hour and I’m really pleased with it.
Sometimes you just gotta go with your gut instinct.

– Philip Glass speaks at the World Science Festival, 2011
The blurb from their website - “When talking about geniuses, the conversation inevitably strays towards topics of eccentricity, or even madness. One needs only to look at the lives of artists such as Vincent Van Gogh and Mark Rothko, or...
Indie classical? →
“In indie classical, we have a vibrant cultural movement that, like most cultural movements, isn’t a great fit with 21st-century capitalism and reflects the growing income disparity problem that we see throughout society.”
I wish my life was like the movie “Amelie”... →
If the purpose of art is to effect someone, then here’s another vote for Amelie. I like this. Very much.
justasconfusedasyou:
I wish my life was like the movie “Amelie” besides the first half when it basically sucked. But I guess there’s a message in that, she never truly lived until Princess Diana died and caused her to find that box. Good things do come to those who wait, and also to...
My brain hurts… Just hit a wall after spending several hours writing liner notes for my next album “The Good, the Bad and the Awkward”.
Time. To. Stop.

It kind of annoys me when folks reblog my video and photo posts but edit out or delete the captions/notes etc. that I pair with them. I posted those things for a reason that I am always careful to explain… but does the Tumblrverse care? I’m not sure they actually do and that makes me a bit of a sad panda.
Just sayin’

Thanks!
Thanks to everyone who gave me a little feedback on whether or not I should consider developing an iPhone/iPad app to go with this album I’m recording. Going to discuss with my producer the next time I see him. Yay!

ARIA please note, there are seven awards in the Classical genre in the Grammys. Seven. This is because the Grammys recognise that all these things are very different and cannot really be...

App?
I’m considering an iPhone app to go with my next album The Good, the Bad and the Awkward.
Especially as it’s a cinematically inspired album, I think it might be nice to link up all the pieces to video excerpts from the films, words from the film-makers as to why they chose a particular composer’s work (living or dead!), opinions from reviewers about the use of music in the...
